Seiko Gold-Plated Moonphase: the Japanese dress watch with a white dial and blue numerals
This Seiko watch is a unisex dress watch with a moonphase, worn equally by a man or a woman. Its round gold-plated case, with a slim bezel and curved lugs, embodies a warm classicism serving a complex dial. The white lacquered dial is a small astronomical theatre. Twelve blue Arabic numerals encircle it, framed by a railroad minute track. At 6 o'clock, a golden moon disc moves across a starry midnight-blue sky, surrounded by a graduated scale from 0 to 29½ days indicating the age of the moon. The date window is placed at 3 o'clock. The blued hour and minute hands respond to the numerals, while a fine golden seconds hand sweeps across the whole. The Seiko Quartz signature occupies the top of the dial.
Inside beats the Seiko 6F22 caliber, an analog quartz moonphase movement with date and lunar age indicator, made in Japan. It combines the reliability of quartz with a complication usually reserved for far more costly mechanical watches. The movement of this example has been inspected by our watchmaker and the battery replaced before shipping. Seiko has not published a precision specification for this caliber: we therefore make no numerical claim.
On the wrist, the piece embraces romantic elegance. The warm gold-plating, white dial and blue numerals create a dressy and refined ensemble, here complemented by a black crocodile-style leather strap. This strap, original and period-correct, should be handled with care; it is fitted with a Buckle buckle. The moonphase complication makes it a watch with character, far from a simple three-hand timepiece.

How do you set the moonphase?
