Atelier Note
A square of silver bordered by two rows of diamonds, fused into a bark-textured link bracelet — the Rolex for evening, the one the house no longer makes.
A 1974 Rolex cocktail watch, gem-set and woven in steel
This Rolex watch belongs to the house's confidential side: its cocktail watches from the 1960s and 1970s, designed like Jewelry for the evening and long since disappeared from the catalogue. Reference 2611, it is dated to 1974 by its serial number — on a Rolex, the year is read, not estimated.
The sunburst silver dial, square, radiates beneath the Rolex crown and the words ROLEX and PRECISION: applied baton hour markers, two black hands, nothing else. The case sides bear the sparkle: two rows of set round diamonds, framing the square and catching the light with every movement of the wrist — the original configuration of this reference, documented by the leading auction houses.
The original integrated bracelet is the piece's other signature: a steel link bracelet in a bark finish, textured with deep vertical striations, flowing from the case to the clasp without interruption — the grand style of Jewelry watches of the 1970s. It closes at approximately 16.5cm, slightly adjustable at the Rolex-signed clasp.
Beneath the dial beats the Rolex caliber 1400: the hand-wound mechanical movement the house designed for its ladies' watches — a compact movement made with the seriousness of Oyster calibers, whose architecture and finishing it shares. Renowned for its robustness, it has been serviced by our partner watchmakers and is guaranteed for one year. At 22mm wide and 7.2mm thick, the watch wears like a bracelet — with the time as well.

Why choose a vintage Rolex cocktail watch?
This pre-owned Rolex watch holds a distinct place among our women's vintage watches: it is a Rolex jewel-watch , from a category the house no longer produces — the expertise of Genève applied to the evening watch, with in-house mechanics beneath the dial. These pieces, long left in the shadow of sports references, are being rediscovered by a generation seeking precisely what the new does not offer.
Like all our vintage mechanical watches, this one has been opened and inspected by our partner watchmakers: movement check, examination of the dial, hands and case. Every vintage Rolex watch we offer comes with an Atelier Victor invoice Atelier Victor serving as a certificate, a one-year guarantee, and lifetime-guaranteed authenticity.

Frequently asked questions
Did Rolex really produce cocktail watches?
Yes — it is a little-known chapter in the house's history. In the 1960s and 1970s, Rolex produced ladies' watches-Jewelry: gem-set cases, integrated bracelets crafted like goldsmith's work, in-house mechanical calibres. This catalogue disappeared with the arrival of quartz and the refocusing on the lines we know today. These pieces, produced in small quantities, are resurfacing today among a generation that finds in them a Rolex that no one else wears.
Are the diamonds original?
Yes: the setting of two rows of round diamonds on the sides is the period configuration for this reference, documented by the catalogues of the major auction houses on identical examples. Both rows are complete, the setting is in place, and their role remains intact: framing the dial with a double line of light.
What is the Rolex 1400 calibre?
It is the hand-wound mechanical movement that Rolex designed in the 1960s for its ladies' watches: a compact calibre, built and finished with the same seriousness as Oyster movements, renowned for its robustness and still repairable by any good watchmaker. The one in this example has been serviced and is guaranteed for one year — wound every morning, it will last through the day.
Can the bracelet be adjusted to my size?
The integrated bark bracelet closes at approximately 16.5cm wrist circumference, with slight adjustment possible at the clasp. Its one-piece construction does not allow the removal of links as on a conventional bracelet: check your wrist size before purchase, and let us know — we will confirm the possible adjustment before shipping.
Is this piece suitable for a slim or larger wrist?
With its integrated bracelet closing at approximately 16.5cm, it is intended for slim to medium wrists — a guideline, never a rule: everyone wears what they like. Its 22mm width and 7.2mm thickness make it a true wrist jewel, to be worn alone or among fine bracelets.
