Seiko Two-tone Dolce: the Japanese dress watch with Milanese mesh and gold framing
This Seiko watch belongs to the Dolce line, the Japanese house’s high-end dress collection, and is equally suited to a man or a woman. Its cushion case, in steel, is framed by two gold-plated lugs at the top and bottom, in an elegant and instantly recognizable two-tone design. The case measures 26.5mm (29mm with the crown) for a Lug-to-lug of 30mm and a thickness of just 5mm, Crystal included. A slim and refined piece, made to slip under a cuff.
The white lacquered dial is understated in its dressy elegance. Applied gold-tone baton indexes punctuate the perimeter, marked by Roman numerals XII and VI, also in gold. The Seiko signature sits at the top of the dial, the Dolce name at the bottom, in handwritten script. Two gold-tone baton hands and a fine central seconds hand sweep across the dial: the contrast of gold on white, without the slightest excess.
Inside ticks the Seiko calibre 7741, an analog quartz movement produced in Japan, reserved for the brand’s dress watches. Its extra-thin construction is precisely what makes the watch’s 5mm profile possible. The movement of this example has been checked by our watchmaker and the battery replaced before shipment. Seiko has not published a precision specification for this calibre: we therefore make no numerical claim.
On the wrist, the Milanese mesh provides all the comfort and elegance of the piece. This woven steel bracelet, supple and dense, hugs the wrist without any hard edges and extends the two-tone case into a refined silhouette, highly sought after on dress watches from the 1980s. Originally, it adjusts to a wrist circumference of up to 17.5cm. The fluted crown is set with a blue cabochon.

What is the Seiko Dolce line?
The Dolce is Seiko's high-end dress watch line, developed in the wake of the Grand Quartz. It combines carefully crafted ultra-thin cases with quality quartz calibres, in a minimalist design conceived for de ville wear. It is the Japanese definition of the dress watch, a cut above the standard collections.
What is a Milanese mesh?
Milanese mesh is a bracelet made from a very fine, tightly woven metal weave, supple like fabric. Inherited from Italian goldsmithing, it moulds to the wrist without pressure points and gives the watch a discreet, timeless elegance. On this Dolce, it is in steel and original, matching the cushion case.
Is the Seiko 7741 calibre reliable?
Yes. The 7741 is an analog quartz movement produced in Japan for Seiko dress watches. Its ultra-thin construction makes it particularly slim, and in practice its maintenance is limited to battery replacement. The movement in this example has been checked by our watchmaker and carries a one-year warranty.
Is this Seiko Dolce 7741-5110 water-resistant?
No. Water resistance is never guaranteed on a vintage watch: the original gaskets have aged and the pressure on the caseback is no longer what it was on day one. Avoid the shower, the pool and the sea. A simple contact with rainwater, however, does not pose any difficulty.
Does a 26.5mm cushion case suit which wrist?
For a shaped watch, it is the Lug-to-lug that dictates the fit: 30mm here, which places the piece on slim to متوسط wrists, approximately 14 to 18cm. The cushion format is the dress watch par excellence: discreet on a masculine wrist, perfectly proportioned on a feminine wrist. Its 5mm thickness makes it a particularly thin watch.

Each watch is examined by our partner watchmakers before being offered for sale: verification of authenticity, checking the conformity of the components, identification of any modification or replacement of original parts.
If any element has been replaced during the life of the watch (dial, hands, crown, Crystal, strap), we systematically indicate it in the product sheet. You buy knowing the exact history of your piece.
