A Seiko The Blackdiamond Collection with a concealable dial, gold-plated case
The 34mm round case measures 6.4mm thick. Its wide gold-plated bezel, guilloché on the surface and fluted on the edge, bears four faceted black stones set at the cardinal points. The short lugs take the strap on an Lug width of 18mm. The steel caseback bears the piece reference.
The golden dial has twelve black Roman numerals around its outer edge and the The Blackdiamond Collection signature, topped by a diamond shape, below 12 o'clock. Two slender gold-tone hands provide the reading; no date window.
The bezel turns: as it rotates, the dial darkens in stages, passes through a deep brown, then becomes entirely black. The numerals disappear, and only the gold-tone hands remain visible against the dark background. The reverse motion restores the dial's light.
The calibre 5P30 is a Japanese quartz Seiko. The serial number places production in August, with the year estimated at 1991. The original fluted gold-tone crown is set into the caseband at 3 o'clock. The watch is fitted with a black crocodile leather strap with a gold-tone Buckle. With a Lug-to-lug of 38mm, it can be worn on a man's wrist as well as a woman's wrist.
