A Seiko Hanae Mori from 1991, 30 mm reversible gold-plated case: white lacquered dial with Roman numerals on one side, black dial with radiating faceted finish on the other, two quartz movements and two crowns. Checked, delivered with its Atelier Victor invoice serving as a certificate.
A reversible gold-plated Seiko Hanae Mori, two dials for two moments
The 30 mm round case measures 8.7 mm thick across its two sides. It pivots between two stepped gold-plated bar lugs, which hold the strap at the top and bottom. Two fluted crowns face each other, at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock: each controls the movement of its side. The caseback bears the piece reference.
The first side features a white lacquered dial with twelve black Roman numerals, framed by a polished gold-plated bezel held by four visible screws. Two black baton hands ensure legibility; the HM monogram is printed above 6 o'clock. The second side answers in negative: a black dial with radiating faceted finish, without markers, where only two gold-tone baton hands and the gold-tone monogram stand out, beneath a gold-plated bezel engraved with the numerals XII, III, VI and IX.
Each side houses its own Seiko 2N20 calibre, a Japanese two-hand quartz movement; the two sides can therefore be set separately. The serial number places production in October, with the year estimated at 1991.
The watch is fitted on a black crocodile-embossed leather strap with Buckle gold-tone pin buckle, both not original. With a 42 mm Lug-to-lug and 17 mm Lug width, it can be worn on a man's wrist as well as on a woman's wrist.

How does the reversible case work?
The case pivots between its two lugs to present one side or the other. Each side has its own dial, bezel, movement and crown: this is not a reversed dial, but a complete module that flips over. The action is done with the watch removed from the wrist, without forcing it.
Does the watch have one or two movements?
Two. Each side houses its own Seiko 2N20 calibre, with its own battery and crown. The two sides are set separately; the side facing up is the one that is read.
What is a Seiko Hanae Mori?
A watch designed under the name Hanae Mori, a Japanese couturière received by Parisian haute couture in the 1970s, and manufactured by Seiko, which signed the case and the movements. The HM monogram appears on both dials. We attribute no history to this piece that we cannot verify.
Is this watch suitable for a woman's wrist?
