Atelier Note

A champagne dial with a honeycomb pattern, which appears when the wrist is tilted. Around it, an octagonal bezel held by visible screws. A Citizen Leopard from 1983 on its original integrated bracelet, delivered with its Atelier Victor invoice serving as a certificate.

A Citizen Leopard from 1983, steel octagon and honeycomb dial

Leopard is a name that Citizen first gave, around 1970, to its high-frequency automatic watches. It appears here below 12 o'clock, on a quartz watch from 1983 with the design of a sporty dress watch: octagonal case, screwed bezel and integrated bracelet.

The steel case, with a brushed top side and polished bevels, has an octagonal bezel held by screws left visible. The original bracelet begins directly from the case, with no intermediate lugs, and repeats the same screws on its flat links.

The champagne dial is covered with a tight honeycomb pattern, which runs from edge to edge and reveals itself in raking light. Twelve applied gold-tone baton markers go around it, framed by a minute track of fine black lines; the mention Water 100 Resist can be read above 6 o'clock.

The watch is powered by the Citizen 7933 quartz calibre. At 6.15mm thick and 32mm wide, it sits flat under a sleeve, on its integrated steel bracelet closed by a signed Buckle Citizen.

Three points to note

Honeycomb dial — Champagne, applied gold-tone baton markers.

02

Octagonal screwed bezel — Visible screws, repeated on the bracelet.

03

Original integrated bracelet — Steel, 6.15mm thick and 32mm wide.

Why choose a vintage Citizen Leopard watch?

This Citizen Leopard combines an octagonal case with visible screws, a champagne dial with a honeycomb pattern and its original integrated bracelet, on a serviced calibre. A sporty dress watch from 1983, which slips under a cuff.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Citizen Leopard?
A name that Citizen first gave, around 1970, to its high-frequency automatic watches. It appears here, signed on the dial below 12 o'clock, on a 1983 quartz watch with an integrated bracelet.

What is a honeycomb pattern?
A motif of repeated hexagonal cells across the entire surface of the dial, here on a very fine scale. It reveals itself when the light comes from the side and gives the champagne colour a depth that a smooth dial does not have.

What does the wording Water 100 Resist on the dial mean?
It indicates the water resistance stated by Citizen when it left the factory, one hundred metres. The seals of a vintage watch age: water resistance is no longer guaranteed today, and we recommend not exposing the piece to water.

Is this piece suitable for a slim or large wrist?
At 32mm wide, 34mm Lug-to-lug and 6.15mm thick, it suits wrists of around 15 to 19cm — a guide, never a rule: everyone wears what they like. The integrated bracelet measures about 21cm and is adjusted by removing links.

How do delivery and payment work?
The piece is shipped with tracking and insurance by a trusted carrier, to a collection point or to your home depending on the destination. Delivery is free.
