A power reserve and a world map on a guilloché dial
This Cartier Pasha vintage, reference 2388, produced in 1999, is one of the most sophisticated versions in the Pasha collection. Born in 1985 from a design by Gérald Genta for Cartier, the Pasha established itself as a watch that is both sporty and refined, immediately recognizable by its screw-down crown protected by its chain-attached cap. This Power Reserve version adds a set of complications that are as technical as they are aesthetic.
The silver guilloché dial displays a finely executed radiating geometric motif, animated by several indications: the power reserve indicator in a semicircular scale graduated from 0 to 50 hours, and the 24-hour subdial adorned with a guilloché world map, allowing a second time reference to be tracked. The date aperture, positioned between four and five o’clock, completes the composition. The Arabic numerals 3 and 9 echo the tritium plots, whose tone has turned to an even cream — the dial bears the inscription T Swiss Made T as confirmation.
The 39mm round steel case carries the Pasha codes: the rotating graduated bezel with blue numerals, the blue cabochon screw-down crown protected by its chain-attached cap, and the luminescent skeleton hands, complemented by the blued hands of the subdials. The automatic movement is revealed through the sapphire caseback, and a Crystal sapphire protects the dial.
Fitted on a black alligator strap with its original Cartier Buckle folding clasp, this Cartier vintage watch is sold complete with its original box and papers dated December 4, 1999 — a set that few examples of this reference have retained.

The power reserve indicates, on the arc-shaped counter graduated from 0 to 50, the remaining autonomy of the automatic movement before it stops.
