This Omega Speedmaster Reduced chronograph, reference 175.0033, dates from 1989, one year after the model's birth: in 1988, Omega adapted its Speedmaster, the 1957 chronograph that became the Moon watch, into a 39mm automatic case, the "Reduced," for those who wanted the design without the 42mm size or daily winding. Its caliber 1140 is an assembly specific to Omega, an ETA 2890-2 base topped dial-side with a Dubois-Dépraz 2020 chronograph module, with a golden finish: it is this module that shifts the pushers above the crown, a singularity of the Reduced. This one is the steel and gold version: 18K yellow gold tachymeter bezel, golden pushers and crown, white dial with three golden counters, and its original two-tone bracelet.
Its original white dial bears three guilloché golden counters with concentric circles: the sub-seconds at three o'clock, the chronograph minute counter at nine o'clock, graduated to thirty, and the hour counter at six o'clock, graduated to twelve. Twelve applied baton hour markers, golden, with tritium dots, doubled at twelve o'clock; a fifths-of-a-second track; two original golden hands with luminous channels, and a slender golden chronograph seconds hand. The steel 39mm case, 45mm Lug-to-lug by 12mm thick, reprises the twisted lugs of the Speedmaster, with an 18K gold tachymeter bezel, two pushers and a golden crown, a steel caseback and an acrylic Crystal. The automatic caliber 1140 was serviced in 2025 by our partner watchmakers and is guaranteed for one year. The watch is fitted on its original bracelet in steel and 18K gold, with its original steel clasp, for a wrist of approximately 17.5cm.

What is the Speedmaster Reduced?
The 39mm Speedmaster launched by Omega in 1988: the design of the 1957 chronograph, the one from the Moon, in a smaller case than the Professional's 42mm, and with automatic winding. Produced until 2009, it existed in steel, in steel and gold as here, and in gold. The name Reduced is what collectors call it, and sometimes Omega itself, which also called it the Speedmaster Automatic.
What is the Omega 1140 calibre?
A modular automatic chronograph: an ETA 2890-2 base on which Omega mounts, on the dial side, a Dubois-Dépraz 2020 chronograph module, the whole with a golden finish in this first 1988 version. This construction places the pushers slightly higher than the crown, which distinguishes a Reduced from a Professional at first glance.
Is the bezel solid gold?
Yes, in 18-carat yellow gold, engraved with the tachymeter scale; the pushers and crown are gold-tone, and the original bracelet alternates steel and 18K gold. This is the steel-and-gold version of the Reduced, reference 175.0033.
Is the bracelet original?
Yes, with its steel clasp: the two-tone Omega bracelet with which the watch was sold, for a wrist of approximately 17.5cm. The Lug width of 19mm also allows a leather strap to be fitted.
Is this piece suitable for a slim or large wrist?
