Atelier Note
Twenty-two millimetres of gold and silver, a seconds hand as fine as an eyelash — the ladies' watch Omega was designing in 1966, when mechanics could fit inside a jewel.
A De Ville from 1966, Omega mechanics in jewellery format
This Omega watch is an De Ville, reference 541.003, dated 1966 — the line born in 1960 in the orbit of the Seamaster and which became the elegant line of the house, its quintessential de ville watch. This example is its feminine expression: a round gold-plated 22mm case, the jewellery format that mechanical watchmaking scarcely produces anymore.
The brushed silver dial expresses the exact purity of the De Ville of this decade: twelve golden applied baton hour markers, enhanced with a black line, the OMEGA signature beneath the house symbol, the words SWISS MADE — nothing else. Two black baton hands and a central seconds hand as fine as an eyelash sweep across the whole.
The case with tapered lugs retains its original fluted crown — and its original strap in black suede-effect leather, with its Buckle: for them to have accompanied the watch since the 1960s is uncommon on pieces of this format.
The Omega calibre 630, hand-wound mechanical, belongs to the generation of ladies' movements that the house manufactured with the same seriousness as its men's calibres — miniaturised, but built to last. Checked by our partner watchmakers, it is guaranteed for one year.
Three points to note
01
22mm jewellery format — Omega mechanics on the scale of a bracelet, a segment abandoned by the contemporary market.
02
In-house calibre 630 — Omega's ladies' hand-wound movement, made with the same seriousness as its men's calibres.
03
Original crown, strap and Buckle — a complete set, rare after sixty years.
Why choose a vintage Omega De Ville?
This pre-owned Omega watch holds a special place among our vintage women's watches: it is a mechanical piece from a great house in a jewellery format — a combination that contemporary watchmaking hardly offers anymore, as quartz has absorbed this segment. The De Ville is the line Omega dedicated to de ville elegance, and this feminine version bears its exact design, at an entry-level budget into vintage Omega.
Like all our vintage mechanical watches , this one has been opened and checked by our partner watchmakers: verification of the movement and its consistency with the reference, examination of the dial, hands and case. Each vintage Omega watch that we offer comes with an Atelier Victor invoice valid as a certificate, a one-year guarantee, and lifetime-guaranteed authenticity.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Omega De Ville line?
It is the line Omega dedicated to the de ville watch: born in 1960 within the Seamaster, it became independent in 1967 to become the elegant line of the house — slim, pared-back watches designed for the city rather than for sport. The De Ville models of the 1960s are today one of the safest ways into vintage mechanical Omega.
Why does the dial not bear the mention De Ville?
Because this was standard practice on women’s references from this period: the watch belongs to the line by its reference — the 541 prefix links it to the De Ville ladies’ models —, but the 22mm dial bears only the Omega signature, in the interest of restraint. The caseback and the reference are authoritative, and this configuration is strictly consistent with period catalogues.
A mechanical movement in a 22mm women’s watch?
Yes — and it has become rare. Ladies’ mechanical calibres, miniaturized to the extreme, all but disappeared with the arrival of quartz: today’s industry hardly produces any in this size anymore. This watch beats to the rhythm of the Omega 630 calibre, an in-house hand-wound movement — an experience no new watch offers in this size anymore.
How do you wind a hand-wound watch?
Gently turn the crown clockwise, about twenty turns, until you feel resistance. Never force it beyond that point. Daily winding, at the same time each day, is enough to keep the watch running and ensures the best regularity.
Is this piece suitable for a slim or larger wrist?
With a 22mm diameter, 28mm Lug-to-lug, and 7.3mm thickness, it is a jewelry-sized format, intended for slim to medium wrists — a guideline, never a rule: everyone wears what they like. It can be worn on its own or alongside fine bracelets, without ever overwhelming the wrist. The Lug width measures 12mm, making it easy to change the strap.
