Eterna: a vintage Swiss gold-plated watch for men and women

This vintage Eterna watch embodies Swiss watchmaking elegance in a fine, understated round gold-plated case. On its white dial, black Roman numerals and the famous five-point logo create a composition of remarkable sobriety. Eterna, a Swiss manufacture founded in 1856 in Grenchen, is one of the most respected names in watchmaking — equally suited to a man's or a woman's wrist. An enduring dress watch, ideal for any occasion.

The lacquered white dial stands out with elegant black Roman numerals arranged around the periphery, and the Eterna five-point logo — a symbol of the five ball bearings in the Eterna-Matic rotor, one of the brand's great innovations. A discreet date window appears at 6 o'clock, beneath the mention “Swiss Made”, a guarantee of its Helvetic origin. Fine hands sweep across this refined dial, in the purest tradition of the dress watch.

This Eterna is powered by a Swiss quartz movement, a guarantee of precision and everyday simplicity. The maison holds a singular place in watchmaking history: it was from its movement division that ETA was born, today one of the world's largest movement manufacturers. A quartz watch offers superior accuracy to most mechanical watches: a simple battery is enough to keep it running for years, without mechanical maintenance.

With its 33.5mm case and slim 6.1mm profile, this vintage watch is equally suited to a man's or a woman's wrist — a true Unisex. The original dial and the Crystal crystal are in very fine condition. The watch is delivered on a handmade black lizard leather strap; the original strap, which is very worn, can be provided upon request. The Buckle buckle is original as well.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Eterna brand?
Eterna is a Swiss watchmaking manufacture founded in 1856 in Grenchen. A pioneer in automatic movements, it invented the ball-bearing rotor in 1948 (Eterna-Matic), a major breakthrough symbolized by the five points of its logo. ETA was also born from its movement division. Eterna is among the most respected Swiss maisons.

Is this Eterna watch vintage?
Yes. This Eterna dates from the 1990s; it is considered a vintage or neo-vintage watch. A watch is generally considered vintage from around thirty years old. Signed by a great Swiss maison, it is a collector's piece with a classic, timeless design.

What do the five points on the dial represent?
The five points (or five balls) are Eterna's historic logo, adopted in 1948. They symbolize the five ball bearings that support the rotor of the Eterna-Matic automatic movement — an innovation that made the brand world-famous and became a standard in watchmaking.

Is this Eterna watch suitable for a man or a woman?
It is a Unisex watch. Its 33.5 mm round case with a very slim profile suits both a masculine and feminine wrist. Its white Roman numeral dial makes it a versatile dress watch, for men and women alike, from everyday wear to more formal occasions.

What is the international delivery time?
Dispatched within 48 hours, international delivery within 3 to 5 days, insurance included.
