The Fire of Opal Signed Tissot

This Tissot is unlike any other: its dial is a true opal mosaic, composed of stone fragments assembled by hand. With every movement of the wrist, the light awakens a striking play of colors — deep greens, electric blues, flashes of red and orange — unique to this fascinating gemstone. Signed Tissot, one of the great Swiss watchmaking houses, this piece combines Swiss savoir-faire with precious material.

The round gold-plated case, slim and elegant, highlights the depth of the dial without stealing the show. The gold hands — hours, minutes, and central sweep seconds — glide lightly over the stone, while the Tissot signature is discreetly inscribed in gold lettering. The measured proportions and slim profile place this watch firmly in the realm of dress pieces, to be worn by day as well as in the evening.

Opal is among the most sought-after stones for its unique play of colors, produced by the diffraction of light within the gemstone. Creating a dial in opal mosaic requires meticulous assembly work, which makes these models rare and especially prized by collectors. Tissot, founded in 1853 in Le Locle, has throughout its history created dials in natural stones, of which this opal is one of the most spectacular examples.

With its 33mm case and Lug width of 18mm, this Tissot can be worn equally well on a man's or a woman's wrist. The opal dial is intact and retains all its brilliance. The gold plating shows some signs of wear, and the Crystal crystal bears micro-scratches (condition 5/10), disclosed with full transparency. The watch is delivered on a handmade black crocodile leather strap, non-original, with a Buckle buckle in steel.

Frequently asked questions

Is the dial made of genuine opal?
Yes. The dial is composed of a mosaic of genuine opal fragments assembled by hand. It is this stone that produces the shifting play of colors — greens, blues, reds, oranges — visible depending on the angle and the light. Each dial is therefore unique, with no two arrangements of the fragments being identical.

What is the Tissot house?
Tissot is a Swiss watch manufacture founded in 1853 in Le Locle, in the canton of Neuchâtel. Renowned for its history and innovations, it has over time signed many dress models, including natural stone dials. Today, Tissot is one of the leading names in Swiss watchmaking.

Is the case made of solid gold?
No, the case is in gold-plated metal over a steel back. The gold plating may show, as here, light signs of wear on friction areas — a normal sign of age, disclosed with full transparency. The opal dial, for its part, is the true precious signature of this piece.

How do you care for a watch with an opal dial?
Opal is a relatively soft stone and sensitive to shocks: impacts and sudden changes should be avoided. As this watch is not water-resistant, water and humidity should also be avoided. With these simple precautions, the dial will retain its brilliance for years to come.

Is this watch suitable for a man or a woman?
It is a Unisex piece. Its 33mm round case offers a balanced size, comfortable on both a masculine and a feminine wrist. The opal dial makes it an original dress watch, ideal for anyone seeking a piece that stands apart from the ordinary.

What is the international delivery time?
Dispatch within 48 hours, international delivery within 3 to 5 days, insurance included.
