The rectangular case, 31 mm wide, is no more than 5 mm thick. Its polished bezel, cut at the four corners, is bordered on its sides by a chiselled frieze motif that catches the light with every movement of the wrist; the short lugs receive the strap in continuity with the case middle. The gold plating, patinated by time on the edges, retains its lustre on the polished surfaces. The steel caseback bears the piece's reference.
The gold-tone dial, brushed vertically, has eleven printed black baton markers, as fine as pen strokes, and a double applied gold-tone marker at 12 o'clock. The gold-tone dauphine hands and slender centre seconds hand are read tone on tone. The Seiko Quartz signature is printed below 12 o'clock, with no window or other inscription.
Calibre 9521 is a Japanese three-hand quartz movement, without a date, whose slimness allows for this case thickness. The serial number places production in August, with the year estimated at 1985.
The original gold-tone crown is set into the case middle at 3 o'clock. The watch is fitted with a brown crocodile-embossed leather strap with Buckle steel, both not original. With 34 mm of Lug-to-lug, it can be worn on a man's wrist as well as on a woman's wrist, and disappears under a cuff.

What does the bezel decoration represent?
A chiselled frieze running along the sides of the bezel, between the clipped corners, in the spirit of Seiko dress watches from the 1980s. We do not attribute to this piece any story that we cannot verify.
Is the case solid gold?
No, the case is gold-plated with a steel back. The plating shows patina born of time on the edges, visible in the photos.
Is the strap original?
No. The brown crocodile-embossed leather strap and its steel Buckle were fitted as replacements; the 20 mm Lug width allows easy changing.
Is this watch suitable for a woman's wrist?
Yes. At 31 mm wide, 34 mm Lug-to-lug, and 5 mm thick, it wears equally well on a man's or a woman's wrist.
