A 1986 Seiko Tank, steel and gold-tone trim, black tapestry dial
The steel Tank case, rectangular with straight brancards, measures 24.5mm wide and 6mm thick. A thin gold-tone frame borders the dial inside the bezel, and the gold-tone crown matches this trim; the lugs take the strap with a Lug width of 20.5mm. The caseback is steel.
The black dial is striped with fine vertical lines, in the manner of a tapestry. Gold-tone baton markers, doubled at 12 o'clock, and a minute track of gold-tone dots mark its outer edge; the gold-tone hands and fine centre seconds are read against this dark background. The Seiko signature is placed below 12 o'clock. Dial and hands are original.
The V701 calibre is a three-hand, no-date Seiko quartz movement. The serial number engraved on the caseback dates production to June 1986.
The watch is fitted with a handmade black leather strap, closed by a steel pin buckle. With 34.5mm Lug-to-lug, it can be worn on a feminine wrist as well as on a slim man's wrist, and slips under a cuff.
