Seiko Tank vintage: a gold-plated dress watch
This vintage Seiko watch features an elegant Tank case in gold-plated finish, with a vertical cushion silhouette. Its sanded golden dial, with its fine luminous texture, makes it a warm and refined dress watch. Produced by Seiko in the late 1980s, it is equally suited to a man’s or a woman’s wrist. A discreet, timeless piece, ideal for both daytime and evening wear.
The sanded golden dial is the key asset of this Seiko: a powdered, almost matte texture that delicately catches the light, animated by applied golden baton hour markers. The Seiko signature is inscribed there with sobriety, while three slender golden hands — hour, minute, and seconds — glide above the whole. A warm, dressy dial in perfect harmony with the gold-plated case.
At the heart of this Seiko watch beats the calibre 9021, an ultra-thin analog quartz movement produced by the Suwa factory, fitted with five jewels and a hacking seconds mechanism — a refinement rarely seen on a quartz. A quartz watch offers greater precision than most mechanical watches: a simple battery is enough to power it for years, with no mechanical servicing required.
With its 26mm case width and ultra-slim profile of just 5.3mm, this vintage watch is equally suited to a man’s or a woman’s wrist — a true Unisex watch. The original dial and the Crystal crystal are in very fine condition. The gold-plated finish may show a few traces of wear consistent with its age, disclosed with full transparency.
