The purity of a dress square signed Seiko

This Seiko embodies the understated elegance of Japanese dress watches. Its square steel case, with delicately softened angles, follows a remarkably slim profile that slips easily under a cuff. Heir to the expertise of Seiko, the global pioneer of the quartz watch, it combines electronic precision with classic aesthetics. A sober, timeless piece, at ease in any setting.

The silver dial, with its satin finish, embraces purity: applied baton hour markers, finely beveled, catch the light around the double signature « Seiko Quartz ». The Seiko emblem appears at 6 o’clock, while two steel baton hands indicate the hours and minutes, without a seconds hand, for a clean read. Nothing superfluous: legibility and balance take precedence, in the finest tradition of the dress watch.

At the heart of this Seiko beats the caliber 7820, a high-end analog quartz movement produced by the manufacture between the late 1970s and the 1980s. Renowned for its slenderness, it equipped extra-thin dress watches prized by collectors. The quartz offers greater precision than most mechanical movements and effortless everyday use: a simple battery is enough to drive it for years.

With its 29mm case and its Lug width of 19mm, this Seiko can be worn equally well on a man’s or a woman’s wrist, in a dress and vintage register. The original silver dial is in very fine condition, as is the mineral Crystal. The watch is fitted with a handmade green crocodile leather strap, recently installed: its muted tone adds a touch of originality to the whole. The steel crown is original; the strap and the Buckle are not.

Three points to note

  • Case square steel case with softened angles, slim profile, satin silver dial with applied markers.
  • Seiko quartz movement 7820, high-end, two hands (hours and minutes), no seconds hand.
  • Original dial in very fine condition; handmade green crocodile strap (not original), original crown.

Frequently asked questions

What does "Seiko Quartz" (SQ) mean?
"SQ" is the abbreviation for Seiko Quartz, the designation used by Seiko for its quartz watches. Seiko made history by launching the Astron in 1969, the world's first quartz wristwatch, sparking the quartz revolution. This piece belongs to that lineage of precise and elegant Japanese dress watches.

What is caliber Seiko 7820?
The 7820 is a high-end analog quartz movement produced by Seiko between the late 1970s and the 1980s. Renowned for its slimness, it powered ultra-thin dress watches. It displays the hours and minutes and runs on a battery, ensuring outstanding precision and maintenance-free operation.

What are the advantages of a quartz watch?
A quartz watch offers greater accuracy than most mechanical watches (a few seconds' deviation per month) and requires no winding: a battery powers it for several years. It is a reliable, hassle-free solution, ideal for everyday wear.

Is this watch suitable for a man or a woman?
It is a Unisex piece. Its 29mm square case and slim profile allow it to suit both a masculine and a feminine wrist. Its refined silver dial makes it a versatile dress watch, perfect for everyday wear as well as more formal occasions.

Is the bracelet original?
No. The watch is fitted with a handmade green crocodile leather strap, recently installed by us, with a steel Buckle buckle. The crown, however, is original. The strap can be changed according to your preferences; its Lug width is 19mm.

What is the international delivery time?
Dispatch within 48 hours, international delivery within 3 to 5 days, insurance included.
