A gold-plated rectangular Seiko Spirit, frosted dial and centre seconds
The 31 mm rectangular case stands out for its bevel-cut corners, extending the polished bezel through to the lugs. The gold plating, given patina by time along the edges, alternates polished surfaces and more matte sides depending on the light. The steel caseback bears the piece's reference.
The champagne dial has a frosted, finely grained texture that catches the light without reflecting it. The gold-tone baton markers, doubled at 12 o'clock, and the matching baton hands stand out clearly against this background; a slender centre seconds hand completes the display. The Seiko signature and the Spirit designation are printed below 12 o'clock.
The 5E31 calibre is a three-jewel Japanese quartz movement, without date, used in the Spirit and Dolce lines of Seiko; its precision stated by the manufacturer is ±20 seconds per year, a level reserved at the time for so-called high-precision movements. The serial number dates production to February 1991.
The watch is fitted with a black crocodile-embossed leather strap with Buckle steel pin buckle, both not original. The format of 31 mm wide by 36 mm Lug-to-lug and 5 mm thick makes it suitable for unisex wear, under a cuff as well as on a feminine wrist.
