Atelier Note
A white dial with applied markers, an English or kanji day-date window and the SilverWave signature. A Seiko from May 1981, on its original steel bracelet. Checked, delivered with its Atelier Victor invoice serving as a certificate.
A 1981 Seiko SilverWave, white dial and bilingual day
The white dial features applied baton markers, doubled at 12 o'clock. The Seiko Quartz signature is placed below 12 o'clock; above 6 o'clock, the line's emblem accompanies the SilverWave name, written in cursive. The dark baton hands and fine centre seconds stand out clearly against this light background. Dial and hands are original.
At 3 o'clock, a window displays the day and date. The day disk is bilingual: it can be set in English or kanji, a layout specific to Seiko watches intended for the Japanese market. The watch is powered by the Seiko 5933 quartz calibre; the serial number engraved on the caseback dates its manufacture to May 1981.
The round steel case measures 36mm in diameter, 40mm lug-to-lug and 8mm thick. The lugs hold the bracelet on an 18mm lug width, the steel crown sits at 3 o'clock and the back is steel.
The watch has retained its original steel bracelet, with staggered links, closed by a signed Seiko folding clasp and adjusted for a 17.5cm wrist. With a 36mm diameter, it can be worn on a man's wrist as well as a woman's wrist.
