Seiko Noie Dual Time Gold-Plated: the watch with two dials and two time zones
This Seiko watch belongs to the Noie line, recognizable by its hexagonal "N" logo, and stands out for a rare and spectacular complication: a dual time display. Two dials, driven by two independent quartz movements, make it possible to read two time zones simultaneously. Unisex, this piece is equally suited to a man or a woman. Its tonneau gold-plated case, with its elongated vertical silhouette, measures 20mm wide (21mm including the crown) for a Lug-to-lug of 34mm and a thickness of 6.6mm.
The two stacked white dials create a face that is both technical and refined. The upper dial, with Arabic numerals, and the lower dial, with baton hour markers and a minute track, are each set independently. The SEIKO signature and the gold "N" logo of the Noie line are placed at the center, where the two displays meet. The blued hands stand out elegantly against the light background of each dial.
Inside beat two independent quartz movements, one per dial, each powered by its own crown. This is a construction far more accomplished than a simple single-hand GMT mechanism: each time zone is set separately, to the minute. The movements of this example were checked by our watchmaker and the batteries replaced before shipping.
On the wrist, this piece is unlike any other. Its vertical tonneau case, its two side crowns and its double dial give it a singular presence and character, halfway between a horological object and a travel accessory. It is fitted with its original black crocodile-style leather strap, with a Buckle buckle. The Lug width of 12mm directs the choice of replacement straps toward slimmer widths.
