Seiko Emblem — The high-end quartz of the 70s in deep blue
This vintage Seiko Emblem watch, dated 1976, belongs to one of the most refined series of Seiko: the Emblem line, a high-end quartz collection from the early 70s, positioned as a prestigious dress watch. Slimmer and more elegant than other quartz watches of the era, it now captivates with its superb blue dial and ultra-thin case with an unmistakable silhouette.
The sunburst blue dial is a model of elegance: crossed by fine vertical grooves that catch the light, it reveals a shifting depth as the wrist moves. Its faceted applied baton indexes and silver-tone hands stand out sharply against the midnight blue background, while the SEIKO QUARTZ signature and the Emblem logo recall the piece’s premium status. A dial of great sobriety, enhanced by its deep hue.
The steel case, nicknamed « Disco Volante » (flying saucer in Italian), displays a round-oval ultra-thin profile with no visible lugs: the steel disc seems to float directly on the bracelet, in a decidedly modern and minimalist spirit that was very much in vogue in the 70s. This shape gives it a unique presence on the wrist, both discreet and sophisticated.
Powered by the caliber Seiko 4120, one of the brand’s first quartz movements launched in 1974, this Emblem combines quartz precision with remarkable slimness. Mounted on its original integrated steel bracelet, protected by a Crystal mineral crystal in excellent condition. Selected, authenticated and serviced by Atelier Victor. Fast and secure international shipping.

What is the Seiko Emblem range?
Emblem is a series of high-end quartz watches launched by Seiko in the early 1970s. Positioned as a prestigious dress collection, more expensive and more refined than the common quartz watches of the era, it stood out for its slim and elegant cases and its carefully finished dials. Today, it is a sought-after piece for lovers of vintage Seiko. -
Why is this case called « Disco Volante »?
« Disco Volante » means « flying saucer » in Italian. This nickname refers to ultra-thin round-oval cases, with no visible lugs, whose profile evokes a saucer. The steel lens appears to float directly on the bracelet, giving the watch a minimalist silhouette highly characteristic of 1970s design. -
What is the Seiko 4120 caliber?
The 4120 caliber is one of Seiko’s first quartz movements, launched in 1974. Renowned for its reliability and precision, it enabled the house to offer quartz watches that were markedly slimmer than earlier models. It requires only a battery replacement every 2 to 3 years. -
Is this watch suitable for a man or a woman?
With its 33 mm case and ultra-thin profile, it is a Unisex-size piece, elegant on the wrist of both a man and a woman. Its blue dial and clean silhouette make it a refined dress watch, ideal for everyday wear as well as evening occasions. -
