Seiko Emblem vintage: a high-end quartz watch with a green dial

This Seiko Emblem vintage watch is a little-known and refined dress piece, with a stainless steel cushion case and a deep green dial. Part of the Emblem range — a high-end quartz series from Seiko, positioned alongside the prestigious QZ and QT series, but with a sleeker design and a slimmer case — it captivates with its understated elegance and the quality of its finishes. With its versatile size, it wears equally well on a man's or a woman's wrist. A discreet and distinguished Japanese watch, ideal for everyday wear.

The deep, almost forest-green green dial plays with the light with striking intensity — a rare and elegant color. It features fine applied baton hour markers, a date window at 3 o'clock, and the inscriptions « Seiko Quartz » and the SQ emblem. The light baton hands provide crisp contrast and immediate legibility. The dial shows a small dark mark on the periphery, around 10 o'clock, as well as a slight dot at 5 o'clock — honest signs of wear, visible in our photos, which testify to the life of this piece without detracting from its overall handsome appearance.

This Seiko is powered by the quartz caliber 7832, a finely made analog movement, originally rated for a precision of around ±20 seconds per month. It runs on a battery and perpetuates the legacy of Seiko, a quartz pioneer with the 1969 Astron. A regulated movement, guaranteeing precise everyday performance without burdensome mechanical maintenance.

With its 32mm case and very slim profile (7.2mm), polished sides and brushed finish elsewhere, mounted on its original integrated steel bracelet, this vintage watch offers an elegant and versatile format, on the wrist of a man or a woman — a true Unisex watch. The Crystal crystal is in very good condition. The piece as a whole is in very good overall condition.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Seiko Emblem range?
Emblem is a high-end quartz watch line launched by Seiko in the late 1970s. Positioned at the same price level as the prestigious QZ and QT series, it stood apart through a more streamlined design, understated colors, and slimmer cases. It is a discreet line, now appreciated by connoisseurs.

Does the dial show any flaws?
Yes, with complete transparency: the original dial has a small dark spot on the periphery, around 10 o’clock, as well as a slight mark at 5 o’clock. These signs of wear are visible in our photos. They do not affect either legibility or the watch’s function, and simply bear witness to its age.

Is the 7832 caliber accurate?
It was originally stated to offer accuracy of around ±20 seconds per month, which was excellent for the period. On a piece of this age, actual accuracy may vary depending on the condition of the movement, but this one has been checked and comes with a 1-year warranty.

Is this Seiko watch vintage?
Yes, absolutely. Dated 1978, it far exceeds the generally accepted thirty-year threshold for the term “vintage.” It is an authentic vintage Seiko Emblem watch, a witness to the golden age of Japanese quartz.

Is this watch suitable for a man or a woman?
It is a Unisex watch. Its slim 32mm case suits both a masculine and feminine wrist. Its deep green dial and integrated steel bracelet make it an elegant and versatile watch.
