Seiko vintage: a gold-plated cushion watch, for men and women
This Seiko vintage watch features an elegant gold-plated cushion case, with a carrée silhouette with softened angles. Its cream dial, adorned with applied gilt Arabic numerals, lends it a dressy and warm aesthetic. Produced by Seiko in the 1980s, it can be worn equally well on a man’s or a woman’s wrist, and is particularly suited to slender wrists. A sober and refined vintage watch, ideal for everyday wear as well as evening occasions.
The cream dial is of great elegance: applied gilt Arabic numerals (12, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10) alternate with fine markers, highlighted by a dotted railroad minute track. The Seiko signature is set with restraint, while three gilt hands — hours, minutes and seconds hand — ensure clear legibility. A warm and dressy dial, in perfect harmony with the gold-plated case.
At the heart of this Seiko watch beats the caliber 9021, an extra-thin analog quartz movement produced by the Suwa factory, equipped with five jewels and a hacking seconds mechanism — a refinement seldom seen in a quartz movement. A quartz watch offers superior accuracy to most mechanical watches: a simple battery is enough to power it for years, without mechanical servicing.
With its 28.5mm case and slim profile, this vintage watch can be worn equally well on a man’s or a woman’s wrist — a true Unisex watch, ideally suited to slender wrists. The original dial is in good condition. The Crystal shows a few scratches (rated 6/10) and the gold plating shows some signs of wear, consistent with its age and disclosed with full transparency.
