This Seiko by Hanae Mori vintage, reference 2N20-0160, is an exceptional jewel watch born of a collaboration between the great Japanese haute couture designer Hanae Mori (1926-2022) and the Seiko manufacture, which oversaw its production. Hanae Mori was the first Asian woman admitted to the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture parisienne, and her watch collections, signed "Seiko by Hanae Mori", are today sought-after collector's pieces among admirers of Japanese design.
The exceptional character of this piece lies in its reversible case: a simple gesture allows the mechanism to be turned over to reveal a second dial. The main face presents a white lacquered dial with black Roman numerals and an HM signature in gold — a classic, luminous aesthetic inherited from Parisian watchmaking codes. The hidden face reveals a minimalist black dial with two gold hands, and a bezel engraved with Roman numerals at the four cardinal points (XII, III, VI, IX) — a refined, almost sculptural Art Deco design.
Four gold-tone screws adorn the bezel of the gold-plated case, in a spirit that is not without recalling the Cartier Santos codes. With its 30mm diameter and 8.7mm thickness, this vintage women's and men's watch offers a perfectly balanced Unisex format, ideal for a dress silhouette.
