Seiko Avenue — Moonphase on blue night dial

This vintage Seiko Avenue watch, produced around 1988, is a Japanese dress watch of rare sophistication. From Seiko's Avenue line, positioned in the dress segment, it stands out for its most poetic complication: a golden moon phase animating a superb midnight-blue dial. A piece that combines horological refinement with dreamlike charm.

The deep midnight-blue dial, graduating toward black, provides the setting for a moon phase with a golden face — the famous “man in the moon” engraved on a golden disc, surrounded by golden stars that shimmer in an arched aperture at 12 o'clock. This celestial staging, inherited from classic astronomical watches, makes every glance at the time a small nocturnal journey.

Around this scene, the silver Roman numerals stand out elegantly around the perimeter, accompanied by a fine railroad minute track. A date window at 6 o'clock adds a practical touch, while the AVENUE / SEIKO signature structures the lower part of the dial. The openworked silver sword hands complete this neo-classical-inspired composition with finesse.

The steel case with anthracite gunmetal finish, framed by a beaded bezel with vintage charm, houses the Seiko 6F34 caliber, a reliable quartz movement equipped with the moon phase function. Mounted on a vintage denim strap that echoes the midnight blue of the dial, the whole piece exudes a relaxed yet distinctive elegance. Size Unisex of 33.5 mm. Selected piece, authenticated and serviced by Atelier Victor. Fast and secure international shipping.

Three points to note about this piece

  • Golden-faced moon phase surrounded by stars, on a graduated midnight-blue dial: a rare poetic complication at this price level.
  • Seiko Avenue line, silver Roman numerals and 6 o'clock date window: refined neo-classical dress aesthetic.
  • Case steel with beaded bezel and matching vintage denim strap: a distinctive character, between elegance and ease.

Frequently asked questions

  • How does the moon phase work?
The moon phase is a complication that displays the appearance of the Moon in the sky (new moon, first quarter, full moon, etc.) throughout the 29.5-day lunar cycle. On this Seiko Avenue, a gold disc adorned with a moon face and stars advances through an arched opening in the dial. It is one of the most poetic complications in watchmaking.
  • What is the Seiko Avenue line?
Avenue is a line of dress watches by Seiko, produced notably in the late 1980s and in the 1990s. Positioned in the elegant segment, it offered refined dials and complications such as the moon phase, in a neo-classical spirit. It is a collection appreciated by enthusiasts of atypical Seiko.
  • What is the Seiko 6F34 caliber?
The 6F34 caliber is a Japanese quartz movement by Seiko equipped with moon phase, date and central seconds functions. Reliable and precise, it only requires battery replacement every 2 to 3 years, while offering a complication usually reserved for much more expensive mechanical watches.
  • Is the denim strap original?
No, the vintage denim strap was fitted by us to echo the midnight blue of the dial. Its weave adds a relaxed, distinctive character to the piece. It can of course be replaced by a leather strap if you prefer a more classic style.
  • Is this watch suitable for a man or a woman?
With its 33.5 mm round case, this is a women's piece. Its moon-phase midnight blue dial and Roman numerals give it an elegance that appeals to both men and women.
  • What is the international delivery time?
Dispatch within 48 hours, worldwide delivery in 3 to 5 days via DHL Express, insurance included.
