Atelier Note

A 5.7mm polished steel rectangular case, a deep black dial and a striated steel bracelet that falls like fabric. A Seiko from 1996. Checked, delivered with its Atelier Victor invoice serving as a certificate.

A Seiko from 1996, extra-thin rectangular case and black dial

The polished steel rectangular case measures 23.6mm wide and 5.7mm thick. Its sides curve toward the wrist, and horizontal lines mark the top and bottom of the case, where the bracelet is attached, on a Lug width of 19mm. At 32mm Lug-to-lug, it remains compact. The caseback is steel.

The black dial is understated: two applied baton markers at 3 and 9 o'clock, dots for the other hours, the Seiko signature below 12 o'clock. The silver-toned hands stand out clearly against this dark background, which reflects the light depending on the angle. Dial and hands are original.

The watch is powered by the Seiko 5P31 calibre, a thin three-hand quartz movement, with no date, designed for the brand's dress watches. It is this movement that allows the case to be 5.7mm thick. The serial number engraved on the caseback dates production to May 1996.

The watch has retained its original steel bracelet, with fine vertical striations, supple like a mesh, and its Seiko-signed clasp. At 23.6mm wide and 32mm Lug-to-lug, it can be worn on a woman's wrist as well as on a slim man's wrist, and slips under a cuff.

Three points to note

01

5.7mm thick — A polished steel rectangular case, made possible by the thin 5P31 calibre.

02

Clean black dial — Two applied markers, dots and silver-toned hands.

03

Original bracelet — A supple striated steel bracelet, closed by a Seiko-signed clasp.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Seiko 5P31 calibre?
A slim analogue quartz from Seiko, with three hands and no date, fitted to the brand's dress watches. It runs on an SR920SW battery, which can be replaced by any watchmaker.

How is this watch dated?
By its serial number, engraved on the caseback. At Seiko, the first digit gives the year within the decade and the second the month: 65•••• here corresponds to May 1996.

Is this piece suitable for a slim or larger wrist?
At 23.6mm wide, 32mm Lug-to-lug and 5.7mm thick, it suits wrists of around 14 to 18cm — a guide, never a rule: everyone wears what they like. It slips under a cuff.

Is the bracelet original?
Yes. The ribbed steel bracelet and its signed Seiko clasp are those of the watch. It adjusts to the wrist size.

How do delivery and payment work?
The piece is shipped with tracking and insurance by a trusted carrier, to a pickup point or to your home depending on the destination. Delivery is free.
