This vintage Racer Orient watch is one of those atypical pieces that only Japanese watchmaking of the 1980s knew how to produce: a serious horological complication — triple calendar and moon phase — in an accessible and refined case. The silver dial is a true horological composition: a 12-hour sub-dial at 12 o'clock indicating the time in a second time zone, a day-of-the-week sub-dial at 9 o'clock (Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat), a date sub-dial at 3 o'clock (1 to 31), and a moon phase at 6 o'clock on a starry midnight-blue background. The gold-toned rings encircling each sub-dial bring elegant contrast and visually structure the dial. The RACER signature appears just above the moon phase.
