Atelier Note

A blue dial with red hands, the chequered-flag CART logo in the 6 o'clock subdial, a black tachymeter bezel. An Speedmaster Reduced 3510.80 from 2000, on its original bracelet. Serviced, delivered with its Atelier Victor invoice serving as a certificate.

An Omega Speedmaster Reduced 3510.80 CART from 2000, blue dial

The Speedmaster Reduced takes the design of the Speedmaster chronograph in a more compact case, powered by an automatic movement. From 1996 to 2000, Omega offered a blue-dial version, reference 3510.80, in tribute to CART, the North American motor racing championship: its chequered-flag logo is placed in the 6 o'clock subdial. This piece dates from 2000, the last year of production for the reference.

The blue dial is arranged around three white-ringed subdials: sub-seconds at 9 o'clock, chronograph minutes at 3 o'clock, hours at 6 o'clock. The markers and the hour and minute hands are luminous; the chronograph seconds hand and the subdial hands are red. The Omega Speedmaster Automatic signature is placed below 12 o'clock.

The round steel case, reference 175.0032, measures 38mm in diameter, 45mm Lug-to-lug and 12mm thick. Its bezel carries a black tachymeter insert, and the domed hesalite Crystal follows that of the Speedmaster. The Omega-signed crown is framed by two pushers, and the caseback is steel.

The watch is powered by the Omega calibre 1140, self-winding, based on the ETA 2890-2 with Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module. It is fitted with its original Omega steel bracelet, closed by a signed folding clasp Buckle.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Speedmaster Reduced?
A variation of the Speedmaster launched by Omega in the 1980s: a chronograph with the design of the Speedmaster, in a more compact case and powered by an automatic movement, whereas the Speedmaster Professional is hand-wound.

How does the chronograph work?
The pusher at 2 o’clock starts and stops the timing, the one at 4 o’clock resets the counters to zero. The timed seconds are read on the large red hand, the minutes on the 3 o’clock counter, the hours on the 6 o’clock counter. The tachymeter scale on the bezel converts a measured time over one kilometre into an average speed.

What does the CART marking mean?
Reference 3510.80 pays tribute to CART, the North American motor racing championship, whose logo appears in the 6 o'clock subdial. Produced from 1996 to 2000, at the same time as the Speedmaster Reduced models in the Schumacher series, it is often associated with this series by collectors.

Is this piece suitable for a slim or larger wrist?
With a 38mm diameter, 45mm Lug-to-lug, and 12mm thickness, it suits wrists of around 15 to 19cm — a guideline, never a rule: everyone wears what they like. The bracelet is adjusted for a wrist circumference of around 18cm.

How do delivery and payment work?
The piece is shipped with tracking and insurance by a trusted carrier, to a collection point or to your home depending on the destination. Delivery is free. Payment by bank transfer benefits from a 3% discount.
