Atelier Note

A black dial with three sub-dials, tritium markers with patina in the same tone and a tachymeter bezel, in a 39mm steel case. A 1991 Speedmaster Reduced, on its original bracelet. Checked, delivered with its Atelier Victor invoice serving as a certificate.

An Omega Speedmaster Reduced from 1991, tritium dial and original bracelet

Omega launched the Speedmaster in 1957, a chronograph with a tachymeter bezel that became the backbone of its sports collection. In 1988, the house introduced an automatic version in a more compact case: the Speedmaster Reduced. This reference 3510.50 takes up all its codes, from the black dial to the chronograph pushers.

The steel case, polished and satin-brushed, measures 39mm in diameter and 12.5mm thick. The black bezel bears the tachymeter scale, which allows an average speed to be read over a distance of one kilometre; the lugs take the bracelet on a Lug width of 18mm, with a Lug-to-lug of 45mm. The Crystal is acrylic, as on the Speedmaster of the period.

The black dial brings together three sub-dials: sub-seconds, 30-minute counter and 12-hour chronograph counter. Its markers and hands are coated with tritium, the luminous material Omega used before the switch to Super-LumiNova, at the end of the 1990s; over time, the tritium has developed a cream patina, even from one marker to the next and matched to the hands. Dial and hands are original.

The automatic movement combines an ETA base and a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module, the architecture that allowed Omega to fit an automatic chronograph into this 39mm case. The watch is fitted on its original steel bracelet, closed by a signed Omega Buckle folding clasp.

Three points to note

Patinated tritium — Tritium markers and hands, with patina in the same cream tone.

02

Automatic chronograph — Three sub-dials and a tachymeter bezel, in a 39mm case.

03

Original bracelet — The Omega steel bracelet and its signed Buckle folding clasp.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Speedmaster Reduced and the Speedmaster Professional?
The Professional is a 42mm hand-wound chronograph. Launched in 1988, the Reduced takes its dial and tachymeter bezel in a 39mm case, with a self-winding movement: a more compact Speedmaster, which winds as it is worn.

What is the tritium on the dial?
A luminescent material used by Omega on the markers and hands until it was replaced by Super-LumiNova at the end of the 1990s. It no longer glows today; over the years, it takes on a cream tone, here even across the entire dial and hands.

How does the movement work?
An ETA-based automatic movement, fitted with a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module. The oscillating weight winds the watch while worn; the pusher at 2 o'clock starts and stops the chronograph, and the one at 4 o'clock resets it.

Is the bracelet original and what size is it?
Yes. The Omega steel bracelet and its signed Buckle folding clasp are those of the watch. It is adjusted for a 16.5 cm wrist; additional links can be provided on request.

How do delivery and payment work?
The piece is shipped with tracking and insurance by a trusted carrier, to a pickup point or to your home depending on the destination. Delivery is free. For pieces over €1,000, payment by bank transfer benefits from a 3% discount.
