A vintage 1980s Longines Conquest watch, steel with a grey dial
This vintage Longines watch bears the name Conquest, one of the house's lines, here in a steel version with a grey dial, date and centre seconds. The movement is a Longines quartz from the Li-Quartz generation.
The light grey dial is original. The markers are luminescent, a date window opens at three o'clock, and the steel hands are accompanied by a red seconds hand — the watch's only colour, and the only element that moves to the naked eye.
The steel case measures 37mm in diameter, with 42mm Lug-to-lug and 9mm thick. Its bezel is carved with engraved cavities, a sporting motif that breaks the light around the dial. The steel crown is original, the caseback is steel, and the original steel bracelet closes with its house clasp, adjustable up to an 18cm wrist circumference.
The movement is a Longines quartz from the Li-Quartz generation, so named for its lithium battery, adopted by the house to space out battery changes. It indicates the hours, minutes, seconds and date. It has been checked by our partner watchmakers and carries a 1-year guarantee. The watch is presented on its original steel bracelet, in Lug width of 18mm.

What is Li-Quartz at Longines?
The name Longines gives to its generation of quartz movements powered by a lithium battery, as opposed to the silver oxide batteries used until then. The advantage lay in autonomy: a lithium battery needs to be replaced much less often. The mention appears on the dial on the models concerned.
Is a vintage quartz watch reliable?
Yes, and it even requires less than a mechanical one: no winding, no periodic maintenance, accuracy of the order of a few seconds per month. The only maintenance is battery replacement. The point of attention is the battery itself: a battery left in too long can leak and damage the movement. On our pieces, the battery is new.
Is the dial original?
Yes. The printing of the markings is sharp, the luminous markers are in one piece, and the date window is correctly framed, which a redial rarely achieves all at once. This dial has not been retouched.
How do you have the battery changed?
By any watchmaker, in a few minutes. On a vintage piece, it is better to entrust the operation to a professional than to open the caseback yourself: the gasket and the screw-down caseback mark quickly, and a caseback that is not properly closed lets dust in. We remain available to guide you.
Is this piece suitable for a slim or larger wrist?
With a 37mm diameter, 42mm Lug-to-lug, and 9mm thickness, it suits wrists of around 15.5 to 19cm — a guide, never a rule: everyone wears what they like. The original steel bracelet adjusts up to 18cm by removing links. The 18mm Lug width is one of the most common, which leaves a full choice of replacement straps.

Each watch is inspected by our watchmakers before shipping. In case of a mechanism malfunction during the first year, we cover the repair.
