A Dior from the 1990s, designed like a pocket watch on the wrist
This Christian Dior watch does not secure its strap between lugs: it fastens it with central T-bar attachments, screwed in, with the golden screws visible at the four corners of the strap. It is the design of a pocket watch transposed to the wrist — the round, complete case appears simply suspended between two brackets. In the 1990s, few houses dared such a construction, and it is this feature that gives this watch its character.
The 24mm case, gold-plated over a steel back, is polished, with a domed bezel and a fluted golden crown. It measures only 6.3mm thick.
The white dial continues the classical register: elegantly drawn black Arabic numerals, almost calligraphic, around an inner circle where the minute track is marked by golden dots. The Christian Dior signature appears at the upper center, and the words Swiss Made at the bottom of the dial. The slender black hands and golden seconds hand are effortlessly legible.
The movement is a Swiss quartz, checked and fitted with a new battery. Christian Dior was then having its watches made in Switzerland, with components and standards of Swiss watchmaking — the dial states this clearly. This watch is fitted on a later brown crocodile-style leather strap, secured by the original screwed attachments.

Does Christian Dior make real watches?
Yes. At the time this watch was made, Christian Dior had its watch collections produced in Switzerland, with movements and cases built to Swiss watchmaking standards — the words Swiss Made appear on the dial. What are these screwed attachments on the strap?
