Cartier Tank Divan 2600: a quartz steel watch with a cream dial
This Cartier Tank Divan watch, reference 2600 in the large model, is a singular and horizontal interpretation of the mythical Tank. Launched by Cartier in 2002, the Divan takes its name from the piece of furniture — a divan, that long, low seat — whose elongated and comfortable silhouette it echoes. Its polished steel rectangular case, very wide and low, gives it an immediately recognizable presence. Of versatile size, it can be worn just as well on a man’s wrist as on a woman’s. An atypical and underrated Cartier piece, highly appreciated by connoisseurs.
The cream dial showcases generous painted black Roman numerals, arranged in rays and graduated according to the curvature of the case, framed by an inner railroad minute track. Slender blued steel sword hands sweep over the whole, bringing that signature contrast of the maison. As on all Cartier, the maison’s secret signature is hidden in the Roman numeral VII — a discreet guarantee of authenticity, to be discovered under a loupe.
This Divan is powered by a quartz movement of Swiss manufacture, calibre Cartier 690. Reliable and precise, it ensures accurate everyday timekeeping without the burden of mechanical servicing.
