Atelier Note

A gold-tone dial openworked at its centre over a gearwork motif, encircled by Roman numerals, in a 31mm gold-plated case. A 1997 Seiko Alba, on black crocodile leather. Checked, delivered with its Atelier Victor invoice serving as a certificate.

A 1997 Seiko Alba, gold-tone openworked dial and Roman numerals

The round gold-plated case measures 31mm in diameter, 8.6mm thick and 37mm Lug-to-lug. Its tapered lugs take the strap with a 16mm Lug width; the gold-plated crown is fluted. The caseback is steel.

The gold-tone dial has twelve black Roman numerals around its edge, punctuated with gold-tone dots. Its centre is openworked and reveals a motif of gold-tone gears and bridges, highlighted by a touch of green at 1 o'clock. The black hands are read against this worked background; the Alba Quartz signature is placed above 6 o'clock. Dial and hands are original.

Alba is a brand of Seiko, which handles its design and movements. This piece is powered by the Seiko V257 calibre, a quartz movement with centre seconds: the openworking of the dial is decorative, the movement being quartz. The serial number engraved on the caseback dates production to February 1997.

The watch is fitted with a black crocodile leather strap, fastened by a steel pin buckle. With its 31mm diameter, it can be worn on a feminine wrist as well as on a slim men's wrist, as a dress watch.

Three points to note

01

02

Roman numerals — Twelve black numerals on a gold-tone dial, encircling the openworking.

03

Frequently asked questions

Is the movement mechanical?
No. The watch is powered by a Seiko V257 quartz calibre. The open-worked centre of the dial reveals a decoration of gears and gold-tone bridges, echoing the aesthetic of a skeleton watch.

What is Alba?
A watch brand created by Seiko, which handles its design and movements. This piece bears the Alba Quartz signature on the dial and a Seiko V257 calibre inside.

How is this watch dated?
By its serial number, engraved on the caseback. At Seiko, the first digit gives the year within the decade and the second the month: 72•••• corresponds here to February 1997.

Is the strap original?
No. The black crocodile leather strap and its steel pin buckle Buckle were fitted as replacements; the 16mm Lug width makes it easy to change the strap.

How do delivery and payment work?
The piece is shipped with tracking and insurance by a trusted carrier, to a collection point or to your home depending on the destination. Delivery is free.
