A vintage Alba watch under Disney licence, a steel rectangular watch with salmon dial
This vintage Alba watch comes from the brand that Seiko launched in 1979 in Japan for a younger audience, with its own movements and freer designs. It was produced under Disney licence — the wording © Disney appears on the dial — and bears the reference V707-5050. Its serial number places it in 2006.
The salmon dial is original, sunburst from the centre towards the edges, framed by a double line and five Arabic numerals — 12, 2, 4, 8, 10 — in a 1930s typography. At the centre, Minnie standing, printed on the dial, beneath two fine steel hands that indicate the hours and minutes. Below her, at six o'clock, a sub-seconds in a concentric guilloché register. The ALBA and © Disney signatures close the dial at the bottom.
The case is in steel, rectangular and polished, 27mm wide for 35mm Lug-to-lug and 5mm thick. The Crystal is sapphire. The watch is presented on a later brown crocodile-embossed leather strap, in Lug width of 18mm.
The movement is a Seiko quartz, calibre V707, with hours, minutes and sub-seconds. It has been checked by our partner watchmakers, it is functional and guaranteed for one year.

Frequently asked questions
How do you read the time on this dial?
With two classic steel hands, placed above the character. Minnie is printed on the dial and does not move; the hands turn over her, with the sub-seconds below. This is what distinguishes this piece from Disney watches with arm-hands from the 1930s: here, the character is part of the decoration, and the display remains that of a dress watch.
What is Alba?
A brand created by Seiko in 1979 in Japan, intended for a younger audience, using the group's movements in cases with freer designs. It was under this name that Seiko produced its Disney-licensed watches for the Japanese market. The V707 calibre in this piece is a Seiko quartz movement.
Is the dial original?
Yes. The sunburst finish is even right to the edge, the numerals and double line are crisp, the © Disney mention and the movement code appear at the bottom of the dial. The Minnie print is clear, with no losses. Nothing has been retouched.
Does a quartz watch require maintenance?
Less than a mechanical one: no winding, no periodic maintenance, accuracy within a few seconds per month. The only routine action is a battery change, carried out by a watchmaker. The point to watch is not to leave a dead battery in the case: it will eventually leak and damage the movement.
Is this piece suitable for a slim or larger wrist?
With a width of 27mm, 35mm Lug-to-lug and 5mm thickness, it suits wrists of about 14 to 17.5cm — a guide, never a rule: everyone wears what they like. Its slimness matters as much as its width: at 5mm, it disappears under a cuff. The 18mm Lug width is one of the most common, which leaves a full choice of replacement straps.
