A golden Seiko that reads the time twice
This Seiko watch is a dress watch built around a 31.5mm gold-plated round case, extra-thin at 5.6mm, with tapered lugs and a slim bezel. Everything lies in its dial, composed of three concentric gold rings distinguished only by their finishes — polished, satin-brushed, sunburst.
The outer ring bears black Roman numerals, painted in fine characters, paired with applied baton hour markers. The middle ring, satin-brushed, unfolds a 24-hour scale in small numerals — 13 opposite I, 18 beneath VI — and the sunburst center radiates beneath the signatures Seiko and Quartz. Two golden baton hands run across the whole.
The scale is not decorative: in the afternoon, the hour hand gives the military time reading directly — three o'clock opposite III. A discreet double reading, inherited from travel dials, served here by the Seiko 7N00 caliber, the two-hand quartz movement that Seiko reserves for its slim watches. It has been checked and fitted with a new battery.
This watch is fitted with a later English green crocodile-pattern leather strap, with Buckle steel pin buckle — deep green against gold, a pairing that takes the golden watch out of its expected register.

Frequently asked questions
What is the 24-hour scale for?
It allows military time to be read at a glance: in the afternoon, the hour hand points both to the Roman numeral and its equivalent on the inner ring — three o'clock opposite III, six o'clock beneath VI. It is a layout inherited from travel dials and service watches, avoiding any calculation. In the morning, it recedes and the dial once again becomes a classic Roman numeral design.
Why does this watch have only two hands?
Because its 7N00 caliber is a two-hand quartz movement, which Seiko reserves for its slim watches: by removing the seconds hand, the movement becomes thinner and the dial gains a calm that watches with a sweep seconds hand do not have. The movement operates exactly like a classic quartz, with a battery to be changed every two to three years.
The dial indicates 7N00-7A88: is that the correct reference?
Yes. At Seiko, the code printed at the bottom of the dial is that of the dial itself, not that of the watch. The watch reference is engraved on the caseback, here 7N00-7A40: the first group designates the calibre, the second the case. A discrepancy between the two codes is normal and is found on most Seiko.
How should a gold-plated case be cared for?
Plating is a layer of gold applied over a base metal, which becomes thinner over time in the areas most exposed to friction. A soft, dry cloth is sufficient for routine care; avoid abrasive products, perfumes, and household cleaners, which accelerate wear. On this watch, the plating is even, with fine signs of use.
Is this piece suitable for a slim or larger wrist?
With a 31.5mm diameter, 37.5mm Lug-to-lug, and 5.6mm thickness, it suits wrists of approximately 15 to 18cm — a guideline, never a rule: everyone wears what they like. Its ultra-thin profile slips easily under a cuff, and its classic round shape can be worn equally by a man or a woman. The Lug width measures 18mm, making it easy to change the strap.

Each watch is inspected by our watchmakers before shipping. In case of a mechanism malfunction during the first year, we cover the repair.
