Seiko Tank gold-plated: the small rectangular Art Deco dress watch with black dial and small seconds
This Seiko watch is a rectangular-shaped watch with resolutely Art Deco charm, designed above all for women or for men with slender wrists. Its stepped gold-plated case, whose middle case rises in successive levels toward the Crystal, evokes the graphic elegance of the 1930s. It measures 20mm wide (21mm with the crown), with a Lug-to-lug of 29mm and a thickness of only 6.8mm. A slim and refined piece, made to slip beneath a cuff.
The black lacquered dial is a small masterpiece of style. Golden Roman numerals run around its perimeter, framed by a double golden line border that forms a central cartouche, in the purest Art Deco spirit. A golden small seconds, at 6 o'clock, turns within a graduated subdial and marks the refinement of the piece. The SEIKO and QUARTZ signatures, also in gold, stand out elegantly against the deep black background. The golden sword hands complete this highly sophisticated ensemble.
Inside beats the Seiko 1428 calibre, a dress quartz movement with small seconds. In practice, servicing is limited to battery replacement by any watchmaker. The movement of this example has been checked by our watchmaker and the battery replaced before dispatch. It is the choice of precision and simplicity, serving a dial of great elegance.
On the wrist, the piece plays the card of the retro de ville jewel. The warm gold plating, the black-and-gold dial, and the stepped shape create a dress watch with strong character, in the spirit of the great classic shaped watches. It is fitted with a new, well-made crocodile-effect leather strap, black in color, with a Buckle buckle. This strap is not original. The 16mm Lug width guides the choice of replacement straps toward narrower widths.

Is this rectangular watch a Cartier?
No. It is an authentic Seiko, signed on its dial.
