The elegance of a Japanese high-precision dress watch
This Seiko Spirit from the mid-1990s is a dress watch of great finesse, which conceals exceptional mechanics beneath its apparent sobriety. Its finely textured white dial (frosted "snowflake" effect) delicately catches the light, enhanced by applied gold-tone indexes and matching hands. Its rectangular case with softened edges, in the spirit of the "Tank" watches, in two-tone steel and gold-plated, gives it a classic and refined appearance.
Beyond its elegance, this Spirit stands out for its high-precision quartz caliber 5E31: a thermocompensated movement guaranteed to ± 20 seconds per year — ten times more precise than a standard quartz. It is complemented by an original Crystal sapphire crystal (virtually scratchproof) and anti-magnetic protection. At the time, it was one of the most accomplished quartz movements from Seiko, reserved for the high-end watches in the Spirit line.
Originally sold on the Japanese market (JDM), this piece illustrates Seiko's savoir-faire in the precision dress watch. Its slim profile (6 mm thick) and measured proportions make it a watch in Unisex format, elegant in every circumstance.
Mounted on a black leather strap, it slips effortlessly under a cuff, on the wrist of both a man and a woman.

The term "Tank" actually refers to a trademarked model by Cartier. This Seiko Spirit echoes its spirit — an elegant rectangular case with softened angles — but it is a full-fledged Seiko creation, equipped with its own high-precision quartz caliber. It is therefore more accurately described as a rectangular dress watch.
What is the Seiko 5E31 caliber?
The 5E31 is a high-precision quartz movement by Seiko, known as "thermocompensated": it adjusts its rate according to temperature to achieve an accuracy of about ±20 seconds per year, nearly ten times better than a standard quartz movement (±15 to 20 seconds per month). It equipped the high-end models in the Spirit range.

Each watch is examined by our partner watchmakers before being offered for sale: verification of authenticity, checking the conformity of the components, identification of any modification or replacement of original parts.
If any element has been replaced during the life of the watch (dial, hands, crown, Crystal, strap), we systematically indicate it in the product sheet. You buy knowing the exact history of your piece.
Certificate of Authenticity
Your Atelier Victor invoice serves as a certificate of authenticity: it attests to the origin and conformity of the piece, and is covered by our lifetime authenticity guarantee — if a piece sold by Atelier Victor were found to be non-authentic, it would be fully refunded, with no time limit.
