An automatic Poljot, the First Moscow Factory
This watch is a Poljot — "Flight" in Russian — the brand of the First Moscow Watch Factory, founded in 1930: the oldest of the Soviet factories, created to provide the USSR with its own watchmaking industry, and renamed Poljot in honor of Gagarin's flight — whose wrist wore a watch from this factory. Its productions equipped Soviet pilots and cosmonauts; the wording MADE IN USSR indicates the export version here, produced in the 1970s.
The mocha fumé dial creates its own light: a gradient that brightens in a halo at the center — a warm mocha, café au lait — and fades into dark brown toward the edges, the vignette effect of the seventies. Faceted applied hour markers set the rhythm, beneath the automatic and 23 jewels markings, and a date window opens at three o'clock. Three steel hands, including a fine seconds hand, sweep across the whole.
The tonneau case with faceted sides, brushed on top and polished along the flanks, carves the decade into 34.9mm — and only 8.5mm thick, remarkably slim for an automatic. The crown was replaced during the watch's lifetime — we are pointing this out to you.
The 23-jewel automatic movement was serviced in 2023 by our partner watchmakers — complete disassembly, cleaning, oiling and adjustment — and it is guaranteed for one year. The watch is fitted with a later taupe leather strap with white stitching.

- Overall condition: Good state of preservation. The original smoky dial is crisp, with an even gradient, clean hour markers and date window. The case shows noticeable wear scratches on the brushed and polished sides, visible in our photographs. The acrylic Crystal is in very fine condition. The crown was replaced during the watch's lifetime.

Who is Poljot?

How does an automatic watch work?
An oscillating weight, driven by the movements of the wrist, continuously winds the mainspring: when worn daily, the watch never needs to be wound by hand. After stopping, a few turns of the crown and setting the time are enough to start it again. Avoid setting the date between 9pm and 3am, when the date-change mechanism is engaged.
What does 23 jewels mean?
Twenty-three jewels: the synthetic stones that serve as bearings for the movement's pivots, reducing wear. It is a generous count, linked to the automatic winding system whose additional gear trains are mounted on jewels — a selling point that the First Moscow Watch Factory displayed on the dial of its export versions.
What does the 2023 service include?
A complete service by our partner watchmakers: dismantling the movement, cleaning each component, replacing the oils, adjusting the rate, and reassembling it. This is the maintenance that restores the original regularity of a fifty-year-old mechanism, and frees it from any further intervention for many years. The movement is guaranteed for one year.
Is this piece suitable for a slim or larger wrist?
At 34.9mm wide, 42.8mm Lug-to-lug and only 8.5mm thick, it suits wrists from approximately 15 to 19cm — a guideline, never a rule: everyone wears what they like. Its slimness, rare for an automatic, lets it slip under a shirt cuff. The Lug width measures 18mm, making it easy to change the strap.
Mechanical warranty — 1 year
Each watch is inspected by our watchmakers before shipping. In case of a mechanism malfunction during the first year, we cover the repair.
Authenticity warranty — lifetime
If a watch turns out to be non-authentic, we will take it back and refund you in full. Without time limit.

The accuracy of vintage watches varies according to the model, movement, and year of production. A request for accuracy improvement deemed within acceptable tolerances cannot be covered by the warranty.

After-sales service is free. Shipping fees outside the United Arab Emirates remain the responsibility of the customer.
Authentication Process
Each watch is examined by our partner watchmakers before being offered for sale: verification of authenticity, checking the conformity of the components, identification of any modification or replacement of original parts.
If any element has been replaced during the life of the watch (dial, hands, crown, Crystal, strap), we systematically indicate it in the product sheet. You buy knowing the exact history of your piece.

Your Atelier Victor invoice serves as a certificate of authenticity: it attests to the origin and conformity of the piece, and is covered by our lifetime authenticity guarantee — if a piece sold by Atelier Victor were found to be non-authentic, it would be fully refunded, with no time limit.

Delivery is free on all our pieces internationally. Dispatch within 48 to 72 business hours by DHL Express, Emirates Post, EMS or an equivalent carrier depending on the destination, delivery within 2 to 14 business days. Each shipment is insured and delivered against signature.
