Atelier Note
A wide bezel, engraved with a crosshatch so fine that it catches the light like fabric. At the centre, a silvered sunburst dial, twelve hand-riveted markers, two hands. Nothing else.
A vintage 1960s Omega 111.003 watch, gold-plated with a silvered dial
This vintage Omega watch bears the reference 111.003, which Omega's official vintage database documents as follows: gold-plated case, calibre 620 hand-wound, and a dial with hand-riveted gold markers and baton hands. Its serial number places it in 1963. It is a dress watch from the period when Omega was offering its three-hand watches in increasingly slim versions — this one even has only two.
The original silvered sunburst dial is original: the rays spread from the centre and shift the light with every movement of the wrist. Twelve gold-tone baton markers, hand-riveted rather than glued, mark the hours — doubled at twelve o'clock. Below the logo, the signature OMEGA; at six o'clock, the words SWISS MADE. Two gold-tone baton hands are enough to read the time: there is no seconds hand.
The gold-plated case measures 32mm in diameter, 6.7mm thick and 38mm Lug-to-lug. Its wide bezel is engraved with a very fine crosshatch, a texture that breaks the light instead of reflecting it and frames the dial with a matte band. The lugs are slim and curved, the caseback is steel, and the gold-plated crown bears the Omega signature. The acrylic Crystal is a replacement.
The movement is the Omega calibre 620, hand-wound mechanical, produced from 1960 to 1973: seventeen jewels, 19,800 vibrations per hour, approximately 42 hours of power reserve, and only 2.5mm in height. It is an extra-flat calibre designed without seconds, which explains the 6.7mm case thickness. It was serviced in 2026 by our partner watchmakers and carries a 1-year guarantee. The watch is presented on a later black crocodile leather strap, in Lug width of 17mm.
Three points to note
01
Hand-riveted gold markers — this is how Omega's vintage database describes the dial of this reference.
02
Calibre 620, 2.5mm high — extra-flat and without seconds, it gives the watch its 6.7mm thickness.
03
Wide bezel engraved with a crosshatch — a matte band framing the sunburst finish, for him and for her.
Why choose a vintage Omega watch?
This pre-owned Omega watch holds a precise place among vintage men's and women's watches: 32mm in diameter, 38mm Lug-to-lug and 6.7mm thick create a dress format that slips under a shirt cuff and can be worn on either wrist. The engraved bezel and riveted markers distinguish it from the more common gold-plated Omega watches from the same period.
Like all our vintage mechanical watches, this one has been opened and checked by our partner watchmakers: verification of the movement, examination of the dial, hands and case. Each vintage Omega watch we offer comes with an Atelier Victor invoice serving as a certificate, a 1-year guarantee and lifetime-guaranteed authenticity.

Frequently asked questions
What does Omega say about reference 111.003?
The brand's official vintage database describes it as a gold-plated case watch, hand-wound, fitted with calibre 620, with a dial featuring hand-riveted gold markers and baton hands, delivered on a leather strap and with no water resistance. That is exactly the configuration of this example, which makes it possible to verify that nothing has been substituted on it.
What is Omega calibre 620?
A hand-wound mechanical movement produced by Omega from 1960 to 1973: seventeen jewels, 19,800 vibrations per hour, around 42 hours of power reserve. Its distinctive feature comes down to one figure: 2.5mm thick. It is an extra-thin calibre, with no seconds hand, which allows the case to remain 6.7mm Crystal included.
Is the dial original?
Yes. The markers are hand-riveted and not glued — that is how Omega describes this reference, and a refinished dial does not reproduce that construction. The sunburst finish is even right to the edge and the signature is crisp. It has not been retouched.
How can you tell it is running without a seconds hand?
This piece displays only the hours and minutes: there is no seconds hand to confirm at a glance that it is running. Hold the watch to your ear, the balance beat is audible; or compare the position of the minute hand a few minutes apart. It is wound by hand, around twenty turns of the crown clockwise, never forcing beyond the point of resistance.
Is this piece suitable for a slim or larger wrist?
With a 32mm diameter, 38mm Lug-to-lug and 6.7mm thickness, it suits wrists of around 14.5 to 18cm — a guide, never a rule: everyone wears what they like. Its slimness matters as much as its diameter: at 6.7mm, it slips under a cuff without catching. The Lug width measures 17mm, a size that is easy to find for replacement straps.
