Atelier Note
A silver sunburst dial streaked with black, set within a brushed steel cushion case with faceted lugs — and beneath the caseback, a serial number that dates this watch to 1969, within a year.
A Genève from 1969, the Omega mechanical at its purest
This Omega watch is a Genève, reference 136.041 — the de ville line that Omega positioned alongside the Seamaster and Constellation, at a more accessible price point yet with in-house movements, manufactured with the same seriousness. Its serial number, in the 29 million range, dates it to 1969: on a mechanical Omega, the year is not an estimate, it is a reading.
The silver sunburst dial radiates from the center toward a fine minute track. The applied baton hour markers, enhanced by a black insert, set the rhythm around the hours — and the baton hands follow exactly the same design, steel and black, with a slender central seconds hand. A date window opens at three o’clock, and the inscription T SWISS MADE T indicates the period tritium. This is Omega’s vocabulary from the late 1960s, without a single ornament too many.
The brushed steel case is a cushion middle case with faceted lugs: 34mm in diameter, yet with broad shoulders and facets that elongate the silhouette — the watch wears larger than its dimensions suggest. The original fluted crown completes the ensemble.
The Omega caliber 613, a 17-jewel hand-wound mechanical movement, is the date version of the famous 601 — one of the house’s most widely distributed movements, which today ensures parts availability and expertise with any watchmaker. This one has been serviced by our partner watchmakers and is guaranteed for one year. The watch is fitted with a later gold leather strap with white stitching.
Three points to note
01
Dated to 1969 by its serial number — on a mechanical Omega, the year is read from the movement, it is not estimated.
02
Serviced caliber 613 — the house’s manual movement with date, renowned and repairable everywhere, guaranteed for one year.
03
Steel cushion case with faceted lugs — 34mm that wears like more, beneath a silver dial with black markers.
Why choose a vintage Omega Genève?
This pre-owned Omega watch holds a precise place among men’s and women’s vintage watches: the Genève is the classic entry point into vintage mechanical Omega — the true mechanics of the house, at a budget unrelated to the sporty lines, in a 34mm format that can be worn by either him or her. Few watches offer as much horology per euro invested.
Like all our vintage mechanical watches, this one has been opened and checked by our partner watchmakers: verification of the calibre and its consistency with the reference, examination of the dial, hands and case. Every vintage Omega watch we offer comes with an Atelier Victor invoice serving as a certificate, a one-year guarantee and lifetime-guaranteed authenticity.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Omega Genève line?
The Genève is the line Omega reserved for its most accessible de ville watches, alongside the Seamaster and the Constellation. The positioning was more affordable, but the movements remained those of the house, with the same manufacturing rigor. That is what makes it today one of the most interesting entry points into vintage Omega.
What year is this Omega from?
From 1969. Unlike many vintage watches, this dating is not an estimate: the serial number engraved on the movement falls within the 29 million range, which Omega reference tables assign to that year. It is verifiable information, not an approximation.
Is the Omega caliber 613 reliable?
Yes, it is even one of its great strengths. The 613 is the date version of the famous caliber 601: a 17-jewel hand-wound mechanical movement, among Omega's most widely distributed movements at the end of the 1960s. This broad distribution has a fortunate consequence: spare parts remain available and any watchmaker knows how to service it. The one in this example has been serviced and is guaranteed for one year.
How do you wind a hand-wound watch?
Gently turn the crown clockwise, about twenty turns, until you feel resistance. Never force it beyond that point. Daily winding, at the same time of day, is enough to keep the watch running and ensures the best regularity.
For what wrist does a 34mm case suit?
With a 34mm diameter but a Lug-to-lug of 40.5mm, this Omega wears larger than its size might suggest: its wide, faceted lugs elongate the silhouette. It can be worn on wrists from approximately 15 to 19cm in circumference — a guide, never a rule: everyone wears what they like. It is the classic format of the 1960s, now highly sought-after once again. The Lug width measures 18mm, which makes it easy to change the strap.
