Omega Dynamic Chronograph 5240.50 — The neo-vintage military-inspired chronograph
Launched in 1997, the Omega Dynamic Chronograph (ref. 5240.50, third generation of the Dynamic line) draws directly from Omega’s military archives. Its spirit evokes the watches delivered to British forces during the Second World War — the famous RAF “Dirty Dozen” — reinterpreted in a modern, robust, and exceptionally legible automatic piece.
The matte black dial is among Omega’s most expressive from this period: stylized luminous Arabic numerals in the Breguet style, a peripheral seconds track punctuated by bright yellow accents, matching chronograph seconds hand and minute counter. The contrast is immediate, and legibility remains pristine even in low light. A true tool watch with a distinctive character.
Powered by the Omega automatic caliber 1138 (ETA 2892-A2 base topped with a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module), it displays hours, minutes, small seconds, and chronograph functions.
