The influence of Lip on Soviet watchmaking: the case of the T18 caliber:
In the 1940s, the française Lip manufacture, then at the forefront of European watchmaking, indirectly contributed to the rise of the Soviet watch industry. The T18 caliber, emblematic of the brand and renowned for its reliability and compactness, is said to have served as the basis for several movements produced in the USSR. Following post-war technical and industrial agreements, plans, samples, or even machine tools were reportedly sent from France to the Soviet Union. Although little documented officially, this transmission is part of a context where the USSR sought to build an autonomous watch industry by drawing inspiration from European standards.
Soviet calibers produced by factories like ZIM or the First Moscow Watch Factory exhibit an architecture very close to the Lip T18, confirming this influence. These movements were then integrated into simple but robust watches intended for widespread distribution throughout the Soviet bloc. This technical collaboration marks a little-known but important episode in the history of watchmaking: the discreet yet real impact of française expertise on the development of post-war Soviet watches.

The accuracy of vintage watches varies according to the model, movement, and year of production. A request for accuracy improvement deemed within acceptable tolerances cannot be covered by the warranty.
Shipping fees
After-sales service is free. Shipping fees outside the United Arab Emirates remain the responsibility of the customer.
Authentication Process
Each watch is examined by our partner watchmakers before being sold: authenticity, component conformity, identification of any modifications or replacement of original parts.
If elements have been replaced (dial, hands, crown, bracelet), it is indicated in the product sheet.
