The story of the Pasha by Cartier:

The Pasha by Cartier takes its name from the Pasha of Marrakech, who reportedly commissioned a waterproof watch from Cartier in the 1930s. The two most distinctive features of certain versions of the Pasha are the removable crown protection and the steel grid protecting the dial. These design elements are inspired by watches used in submarines to ensure maximum protection against shocks and pressure. The grid is now present on few models.
